Kamu looks comfortable lying down on the floor in her pajamas. This type of a picture can be used to give people a sense of their childhood. You see, pajama parties, happiness, sleeping comfortably was how we were when we were kids.
Kamu is pictured in nature in this picture. She is resting on the side of the street as if she were waiting for her bus to come and take her to school. But she has no backpack. So it is as if she's gone outside for a nice stroll or even possibly for a run.
Kamu Yokoyama looks natural in the field here. And her smile is precious.
Mika Iwata is a model that is highly portrayed in significantly drastic settings. The first picture here is taken in what appears to be a trail or a park. She is in her school girl outfit. That is kind of an interesting contrast between the structured school setting and the freedom of nature.
Here, Iwata is again modeling in a kitchen. The kitchen tends to be a very busy place where you are either cooking or washing dishes or cleaning up after yourself. But, in contrast, Iwata is lying restfully in peace in the kitchen.
Iwata is dressed up in a fancy fashion outfit here fit for a princess but she is pictured on a dirty grassy setting. Another picture of contrast.
Now, here's a photo that contains no real contrast. Mika is at a pool and has it written on her chest "Beach". In the pictures above where there is a contrast, Mika is not smiling. But here, she is!
Yumu Osawa is one of my most favorite of all the models on this site. She projects the perfect happy daughter / school child look. You see when an actress is able to project herself as a figure that you are familiar with -- you're more likely to buy a product they are selling. For example, check this picture out. You see Yumu extremely happy in a field of flowers. And if this were an advertisement for a botanical garden near your hours, you'd definitely want to go so that your own daughter could have as much fun as she appears to.
This is another fun picture. Yumu is simply lying down on the couch. A purple couch with a green background, lol. The couch and her happy fun gesture is meant to project herself as comfortable. This is a perfect ad for clothing.
Here is another picture where Yumu is picking up a flower. She looks like an average daughter and meant to project your own daughter in her shoes and buy anything and everything that she sells, haha.
This is a fun picture of Yumu in a Japanese cultural dress. Can anybody say culture show advertisement? Perfect for a brochure.
Arisa Suzuki has very short here. He is a picture of her lying down on the beach. A perfect type of photoshoot for travel magazines that want to promote their tourist spots to beach goers with children. Children love the beach and Arisa looks very comfortable here. But the picture is not quite right. Her face looks a bit chubby and she's not giving a true smile. Secondly, the beach is faded out a bit too much.
Here is a shot of Suzuki in a pool outfit. She is nearby trees. Her face looks more natural here than in her beach photo. She is not smiling but at least she is not giving a fake smile either. She is grabbing onto one of the branches.
Here is a perfect type of a picture for a beach or pool promotion. Yes, your whole family can have fun at the beach and the proof is in the happiness of the little girl.
As we have discussed earlier, when models are pictured lying down -- it is hard to get them appearing natural. Arisa does not really look so natural here does she. Her smile is like a lonely sad type. Her arms are crossed but look like they were placed there instead of really naturally being together. He legs are locked and are at the same height as the face so it distracts from the picture a bit.
Here is Miku doing a classic lying down pose. To successfully take lying down photos, it is important to get the model relaxed. As reported by Ehow by Melissa Hash, it is not easy to get a model in this pose and have it appear natural at the same time. Mike looks like a natural in this pose. Props are generally used in this type of a picture and the prop being used in this picture is not quite known.
This second picture, Miku is facing directly into the camera with big eyes and a slight smile. It is a semi-serious look -- but still presents an aura of happiness and delight. The sweater she is wearing is a very multi-colored one but has very light colors like purple and blue. It blends with the background and with the hue of her face.
Miku is sporting a very bright yellow sweater in this pose. Unlike the first two pictures, her hair is put into a pony tail and modeled explicitly for us. A pose like this is perfect for hair salons to use because it shows a fantastic hair. But because of the brightness of the sweater, the sweater and the yellow-ness dominate the photo. A perfect front cover of a fashion magazine.
Miku is posing in very dim colors. The gray sweater, light blue shirt and light brown scarf is meant to put focus ni on her face. Her hair is tinted a bit brown here which differs greatly from the bright yellow that was photographed in the earlier photograph. This picture is meant to highlight the cuteness of Ishida.
What makes Shiori Niwa a very popular model is her smile. She smiles delightfully as if she was given a surprise that was to her delight. What could it be.. a barbie perhaps?
Observe the picture below of her at the beach. Her smile appears far more genuine than many other up-and-coming actresses.
Picture 1
Here is another picture of Shiori at the beach. She is sporting the same outfit.
Again, Niwa poses with the same delightful smile. This time she poses with her arms nearby her head. It is a cool picture because her hair is tied up and is not getting in the way of her face -- unlike the pictures that were taken at the beach.
Here is an empty onward looking pose. This is completely unlike the Niwa characteristics. She is at her best when she is smiling. Observe this picture and you will be convinced of that.
Child modeling is not entirely
same as modeling with adults. There are certain aspects of child modeling that
parents aspiring to establish their children in the modeling world need to take
into consideration.
A successful child model needs
to have the following qualifications.
§A child who appears younger than her age has the opportunity to
feature in advertisements depicting younger roles. Handling really young
children is a difficulty for ad makers, and the younger looking child models
have the advantage of the maturity to understand the directions given to them.
§The child needs to possess a charming personality; they must be
sociable and comfortable around strangers.
§Not only ad-films, but photo modeling requires some acting. So a
child with acting abilities or the skill to express emotions as per directions
have a definite plus point. It is a good idea to provide them with formal
training in singing, dancing and acting.
§The child needs to enjoy the work and like what they are doing. If
the modeling is what just the parent wants and the child does not yearn for it,
then things may not work out. The child model needs to be focused and able to
meet the demands of the work. This is possible only if the child itself is eager
to do the modeling work.
§The child needs to have someone readily available to take them to
castings and assignments.
§They need to have flexible schedules at school, or the permission
to be absent from the school occasionally to take up assignments. Hence, the
school authorities need to be supportive and accommodating. Also, the child will
need to be able to handle the pressure of academics and maintain acceptable
grades along with the modeling work.
§The parents need to understand that they should not throw
instructions at the child during a shoot unless specifically asked to do so.
This hinders the shoot and also might interfere with the desired outcome.
Opportunities for child
modeling are scarce, the requirement for child models is limited. Not many
agencies are willing to represent children, and even if they do, they promote
them as “talents” and not as models. This is simply because there is not much
mainstream demand for child models and the child needs to be able to do more
than just look nice in advertisements in order to get substantial work.
Moreover, the child models are not paid as much as the adult models are. This
should be borne in mind by the parents before their child embarks upon a career
in modeling.
Children change very rapidly.
They lose teeth or may get braces, or grow into a different size than the client
desires. The agency handling the child needs to be updated about such sudden
alterations.
A reputed professional
photographer should be hired to provide a few good quality photos of the child.
They must not be "glamour", "portrait" or "fashion" style. Local photographers
and “Internet photographers” lack the competence to shoot them.
Finally, a word of caution. A parent should be alert and steer clear of
agencies that sell fraudulent promises of acquiring a thriving career for the
children by offering modeling classes, portfolios, and admittance to modeling
conventions. These are no good and are only scams to make money out of credulous
parents. The parents should only look for the guidance of only those agencies
that are involved in booking children as models.
